Dr. Dirk Dembski, President & Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Dirk Dembski’s expertise is in General Management, Commercial Functions, M&A, Change Management and Turnarounds, both in biopharmaceuticals and medical devices. Before joining curasan in January 2021, he used to serve TOPCON Healthcare as Managing Director. Prior to this he was appointed as Executive Managing Director at Naton Medical, one of China’s largest medtech companies, where he completed several acquisitions and built the international business. He also served as board member of Bone Therapeutics SA and worked as Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development at Olympus Biotech for EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America, where he successfully marked a portfolio of bone growth factors, cell technologies and innovative biomaterials. Dirk has studied economics and management in the UK, Germany, Switzerland and South Africa.
Dr. Alexander Huwig, Chief Scientific Officer
As a solution-oriented scientist, Dr. Alexander Huwig has worked for more than twenty years in the development of medical devices with a strong focus on dental products.
Stations of his dental career were Ivoclar Vivadent AG in Schaan, Liechtenstein, Dentsply Implants in Mannheim, Germany, and Sunstar Suisse SA in Etoy, Switzerland. The core topics of his research and development activities are based on tissue regenerating as well as caries and periodontitis/peri-implantitis preventing products. In this context, he has mainly developed medical devices as well as medicinal products, diagnostics, cosmetics, and food supplements. Since a successful market launch always includes quality and regulatory aspects, he has been intensively involved in the topics of quality assurance and regulatory affairs. He was able to use his experience during his last job at the company regenold GmbH in Badenweiler, Germany, in an advisory function for pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, including many dental manufacturers.
Gabriele Esposito, Chief Commercial Officer
With a versatile professional background, Gabriele brings extensive experience in global sales and marketing. As the Global Sales & Marketing Director at Fin-Ceramica Faenza spa, Italy, he played a pivotal role in increasing market share and brand awareness.
With previous roles at Stryker and Medtronic, he brought comprehensive knowledge in regional sales management and strategic marketing. As the Regional Sales Manager at Stryker, he led a team of ten salesmen and implemented effective marketing strategies. In his role as District Sales Manager at Medtronic, he achieved outstanding results, including a revenue increase and the introduction of innovative marketing strategies.
In addition to his academic achievements, including a degree in economics and an MBA from Bologna Business School, Gabriele further enriched his knowledge with a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Luiss Business School.
